Language Competition
Last year two groups of students of our class started doing a project for the renown language competition in Hamburg. After a few months of hard work on a film and a posdcast, we were invited to the award ceremony which took place in the Emilien Wüstenfeld Gymnasium. We were really excited to receive the invitation because that meant we would 100% win an award. Our groups felt really honoured to be there since only three groups out of our school were invited. Finally the day of the award ceremony came and we drove there together: one French group with Mrs Strohfahrt and two English groups with Mrs Wehowski. We were full of anticipation. As we arrived, we were surprised to see so many groups from different schools. After a little concert and a TON of speeches, it started. As a consequence of many 3rd places being given out, our excitement increased. Every time they announced more groups, giving out awards, we thought we could be the group receiving one. The 3rd place awards were changed over to 2nd place awards, and we knew that we would either be 1st or 2nd place. Finally the moment came and all of the three groups were called to the stage. We all won 2nd places! With the award each group won 80€! It was a successful day for all of us and a great experience.
